SenzaNET Release 4 now available

Release 4 of SenzaNET is now available and comprises both a new version of the SenzaNET protocol stack as well as a complete overhaul of all our products.

Release 4 of the SenzaNET protocol is called SenzaStack SN100. One of the unique attributes of the SN100 stack is that mesh network formation as well as re-organization of the network in case of RF-links becoming unavailable are happening faster than with other self-organizing mesh network protocols. This is due to a special mechanism introduced into SenzaNET’s channel-hopping algorithm which allows new nodes trying to join a SenzaNET to find it more quickly. Additionally, advanced routing algorithms are employed to be able to determine the best possible routing paths for each node very fast.

Those features also help to reduce battery-consumption of the network nodes, since the time-span during which they are receiving and sending messages can be shortened. The accuracy of time-synchronization throughout the network was improved, too, to further reduce power-consumption.

SenzaStack SN100 is a lightweight stack, which is capable of bringing all advanced RF-features onto very smart hardware-platforms. As the architectural foundation of E-Senza’s products, SenzaNET is designed to not only conform to its own mesh algorithm, but to allow for plug-ins for WirelessHART and 6loWPAN.

Versions of SenzaNET exist for Industrial Automation, Process Industry, Building Automation as well as Logistics applications.

The following table provides a high-level comparison between the capabilities of SenzaStack SN100 and SenzaNET SNH7 (WirelessHART plugin) as well as a ZigBee PRO based solution:

On the hardware-side, we have worked to optimize products regarding costs and end-user benefit. This materializes in our SenzaBlocks now providing more device interfaces and higher measurement accuracy than before, our SenzaGates having an additional maintenance port for easier setup of fieldbus-integrated solutions as well as our SenzaWMS device- and network-management software offering more functionality, remote-management and software-integration capabilities.
